Salt Cellar

Small Things

A two-finger pinch-pot with a loose lid, made to live next to the stove. The inside stays unglazed so the salt doesn't clump. Small enough that I fire a dozen in the gaps of a load.

Dimensions & materials

2.5 in wide · lidded

Local-blend stoneware, glaze exterior / raw interior

Care & use

Wipe clean; don't submerge the raw interior. Refill from a spoon, not a wet hand.

Glaze variation

Expect variation — fired in the gaps of bigger loads, each cellar catches whatever the kiln was doing. The photo shows pots from the same glaze batch.

Words from its owners.

From the kiln list

Lives by the stove and gets touched more than anything else I own.
